Local Teams

Our Train First local session is our most common session. This session last about 2 months (8 - 9weeks) with two 90min practices each week and a total of 4 tournaments. Our Local session gives our players the opportunity to compete at all levels. It gives our coaches the chance to assess properly while placing each team in the proper division that will help continue their development. 

Circuit Teams

WHAT IS A CIRCUIT SESSION?

Our circuit session is our most competitive level of hoops for Train First. We play in high level NCAA sanctioned events where we compete against some of the best players and AAU teams in the country!... We compete during what is called the "LIVE PERIOD" events which means these are time periods (dates) when college coaches are allowed to personally come out, scout and recruit.

HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION LAST?

Our Circuit session goes from MARCH - JULY

Our circuit sessions will play the months of march, April, may and July. June is off for our session because it is typically reserved for high schools (practices, summer league, camps etc..)

WHAT LEVELS/AGE GROUPS WILL YOU HAVE?

We will have circuit level teams for ages 17, 16 and 15u age groups. There will be “Black and Red” teams for each level…


HOW MANY PLAYERS DO YOU HAVE ON A ROSTER?

We typically like to keep 9 - 11 players max (which is rare) but we like everyone to be able to be seen in our NCAA sanctioned events and too many players wouldn't allow that to happen. Unfortunately, everyone is NOT selected to play on our circuit teams.... We have local level teams that play in locally competitive events.


WHERE AND WHEN DO YOU TRAVEL?

Our travel months are usually April and July (Live period months). Our travel events are based on the circuits we choose to play in. In the past, we have gone places such as LA, Vegas, Milwaukee, Atlanta and Phoenix. There will be other tournaments within this session. Details of dates and location and full schedule will be released once your player has made the team.

WHO ARE THE COACHES:

We have always taken great pride and trust in our ability to train, teach and develop and that is simply because of our amazing coaches! We truly feel we have some of the best coaches in the area! Our coaches have both collegiate and professional experience and rank amongst the top high school coaches in the area. We have coaches from Granada high school, Amador high and other surrounding schools in the local area. Your child will be coached by some of the best and be taught all session long!

PAST EXPERIENCES:

Train First has established itself as one of the premier programs in the bay area, we have played against future and current NCAA superstars and NBA players. We have also competed in front of some of the best college institutions and highest division I programs in the country (Stanford,UCLA,USC, SMSU etc..) We have helped over 30+ high school players reach their goals of playing in college and counting... Our goal is to teach, develop and prepare kids for the next level!
